Meet Dominick

Dominick Pumilia is a 12-year-old young man from Bel Air, MD who is fighting a papillary pineal gland tumor.  He had surgery in 2023 to relieve fluid and a biopsy.

The tumor was in fact cancerous.

He has endured 30 sessions of proton therapy to attack the brain tumor.  The proton therapy created a blockage, so he underwent brain surgery January 2024.

The brain tumor is now inoperable due to the position of it in his head.  He was diagnosed with dyslexia and autism.  He struggles with daily activities, but is a real trooper.  He is a big fan of baseball and as his health allows, he participates in a special needs baseball team.  He loves collecting baseball cards and really studies them.

Dominick even earns baseball cards for having MRI’s, bloodwork, and other medical procedures to help get him through those ordeals. Dominick lost his father shortly after he was born, to the same type of tumor 10 years ago.

We are proud to help Dominick and his family as our 2024 For the Kids, Inc Charity Beneficiary.
